"Ihsan" is an Arabic term meaning (Perfection) or (Excellence). It is a matter of taking one's inner faith and showing it in both deed and action, a sense of social responsibility borne from religious conviction.

In Islam, ihsan is the Muslim responsibility to obtain perfection or excellence in worship, such that Muslims try to worship God as if they see Him, and they undoubtedly believe that He is constantly watching over them as stated by Muhammad in the Hadith of Gabriel: "[Ihsan is] to worship God as though you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then indeed He sees you.".

Ihsan, meaning "to do beautiful things," and is one of the three dimensions of the Islamic religion: islam, iman and ihsan. One who "does what is beautiful" is called a muhsin. It is generally held that a person can only achieve true ihsan with the help and guidance of Allah, who governs all things.

  • In our institution, Ihsan represents excellence in work, learning, our interactions with others, giving, dedication to our family, friends, and social life, and demonstrating the correct attitude both inside our institution and post-graduation. It is a behavior and a way of life that we instill in our students, which will serve them well as they grow and develop in the world.
  • Ihsan also represents recognising and encouraging excellence in others. Students here are both individuals and part of the wider institutional community.

We encourage all our pupils to identify, assist and celebrate excellence in others, as being open to recognizing the strengths of others and helping others to develop their own excellence is, in itself, a strength.
